Video tutorial

Step 1

Registration

  1. Open the event link or scan the organiser’s QR code and tap Start game.
  2. Choose how you will play: Individual or Team. If only one option is available, its form opens straight away.
  3. Enter your email and choose a player name. It appears in the results table and you log in with it. If it is taken, free alternatives are suggested.
  4. Accept the rules and privacy policy and tap Register.
  5. You will receive your player name and access code by email (it is also shown in the registration confirmation). Keep it!

No email? Check your Spam and Promotions folders. Registration is open only during the period set by the organiser.

Step 2

Logging in

  1. On the event page tap I am registered — play or the QR icon in the top corner.
  2. Enter your team or player name and access code, then tap Continue.
  3. The game page opens with your progress, the puzzles and the Scan QR button.
The game runs at set times

Puzzles and scanning are available only at these times:

  • 23 Oct 2026 · 16:30–23:59
  • 24 Oct 2026 · 16:30–22:00
  • 25 Oct 2026 · 16:30–22:00

Tip: add the game page to your home screen or bookmarks so you can reopen it quickly.

Step 3

Puzzles and places

The game page shows a list of Puzzle 1, Puzzle 2…. Each puzzle describes a place where a QR code is hidden. You can usually solve them in any order unless the organiser says otherwise.

  • The ring at the top shows how many places you have found, for example 2/5.
  • Found puzzles get a green tick and the Found badge.
  • If the event has a map, it shows the checkpoints.
Step 4

Scanning the QR code

  1. When you find the place and the QR code, tap Scan QR at the bottom of the screen.
  2. The first time, the browser asks for camera access: tap Allow.
  3. Point the camera at the code so it fits the frame. Once read, the checkpoint question opens automatically.

You can also scan with your phone’s normal camera app: it opens the same checkpoint page.

Step 5

Answering

  1. At the top you see Playing as …. Make sure it is your name or team.
  2. Read the question and choose one answer: A, B or C.
  3. If there is a Task (for example, take a photo), add the picture in Photo for extra points. The photo is optional but can earn extra points.
  4. Tap Submit answer. With a photo, saving may take a few seconds.
  5. You will see a confirmation and the correct answer. Tap Find next place.
Each checkpoint can be submitted only once

Check your answer and add the photo before submitting. It cannot be changed later.

Location

GPS checkpoints and tracking

Some puzzles may have a GPS badge. Then you can submit only while you are at the real place:

  1. On the checkpoint page tap Check GPS.
  2. Allow the browser to access your location.
  3. When you see “GPS received”, you can submit the answer.

The game page may also ask to share your location with the organiser during the event. It helps with safety, but you can play without it.

Better together

Playing as a team

One person registers the team with its name, email and number of members. The team name must be unique, because the whole team plays with the team name and one code, so share them with your team.

At the end

Finish and results

  • Points come from correct answers, photo tasks and organiser bonuses.
  • Most points wins. On a tie, the faster player ranks higher (time counts from the first to the last answer).
  • When all checkpoints are found, the game page shows Rate your experience. Your rating is anonymous and helps the organiser.
  • You can see the leaderboard on the event page.

If something does not work

I forgot my access code
Look for the registration email (also in Spam). If you cannot find it, message the organiser in the chat or by email at no-reply@atklaj.lv.
“Incorrect name or code”
Check that the team or player name matches the email exactly (case and accents) and that the code has no spaces. The code works only for this event.
The camera does not open or the QR is not read
  • Allow the camera in the browser address bar (lock icon → Camera → Allow) and reload.
  • Open the page in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android), not in the Facebook/Instagram in-app browser.
  • Clean the lens, move closer and make sure there is light.
  • If the game is open inside Facebook, Messenger or Instagram, open it in Chrome: these apps often block the camera.
  • In the scanner window tap “Take a photo of the QR code”: it works even without browser camera access.
  • Or scan the code with your phone’s regular camera app.
GPS is not received
Turn on location services in the phone settings, allow them for the browser and tap “Check GPS” again. Indoors or between tall buildings the signal can be weak: step outside or wait a few seconds.
There is no mobile signal
You can keep playing without signal. If an answer cannot be sent, it is saved on your phone and goes out by itself once the signal is back. Do not use private (incognito) mode. For this to work, the game page must have been opened once with internet, for example at the start.
“The game is not open right now”
The game works only during the times set by the organiser. The next session is shown in the message.
I made a mistake in my answer
A submitted answer cannot be changed. If there was a technical error, message the organiser.
My phone battery is running low
Lower the screen brightness, close other apps and bring a power bank. You can continue on another phone with the same name and code.
